A Visit To The Vets!

Happy Monday all!

Some of the children from our Heddon-on-the-Wall nursery had the best time visiting the local vets!  We think it’s so key for them to feel like they’re part of the community as it gives them a huge sense of belonging as well as a strong sense of self. They enjoyed learning about what happens in the veterinary practice on a day to day basis and were eager to get stuck in when listening to the heart rates of some dogs and bandaging their teddies up! Their mathematical knowledge was strengthened during this as they enjoyed weighing the different teddies which required them to read the scales.

It was amazing to see just how confident all of the children were when interacting with an unfamiliar adult in a completely new environment. They were able to engage and respond appropriately to the lovely vet’s questions which encouraged them to never be afraid to take part in new experiences.
