Bouncy Ball Fun!

05.10.2020

There is so much a baby can learn and enjoy with a simple collection of balls! Recently with our Snowdrops we have been exploring the textures, colours, sizes and weights.
The Snowdrops have shown a keen interest in the new basket of balls, finding out new ways to play with them individually and with peers or staff. Some of the benefits we have witnessed through their play have been helping them to work on their fine and gross motor skills, vocabulary,, sensory stimulation, turn taking, sharing and so much more.
We have a lot of Snowdrops improving their gross motor skills every single day that they spend with us by pulling themselves up to stand, so offering the yoga ball allows them to lean on the ball with their tummy’s and have the freedom to be in a standing position as they’re working out their confidence and new skill of taking steps. For the younger babies placing them on their tummies helps them to work out their balance and core strength, as they’re lying over the yoga ball, rolling forwards and backwards and bouncing it ever so slightly.
Lots of love,
Leigh and the team xxx
