Creative Flow!

Happy Friday everyone – the weekend is almost here!

Everyday is a creative one in all of our settings here at Leigh’s. We wanted to share with you a particular activity that the children thoroughly enjoyed this week! The children were asked how they were feeling and based on their answers a song called ‘Happy’ was played. With the music playing in the background they focused on painting along with the rhythm of the song, creating a work of art that really showcased how the music made them feel.

Painting has a whole host of benefits when it comes to a child’s development including hand eye coordination and fine motor skills. They were painting across a large area meaning their gross motor development was stimulated and improved upon also. By introducing the children to new experiences and sensations on a daily basis they’re given the opportunity to explore and express their emotions in a different way, while also having lots of fun with their friends!
