Exploring Babies!

Happy Monday everyone,

I hope your weekend was filled with fun!

I’m kick starting this week with a focus on our babies here at Leigh’s Nurseries (Snowdrops). Exploring is something that they all thrive on when spending time in our care, they’re especially fascinated with finding new objects hiding in our various musical instrument baskets! The different sounds that the instruments make is something that they never tire of experiencing.

We deliberately place the baskets on shelves as it actively encourages the babies to stand up and cruise around on their own. Little by little this builds their self-confidence before taking steps independently, which as you all know is such a huge milestone in their development!

Creating a rich musical environment is really key for us here because the range of accessible sound-making objects stimulates the babies gross motor skills such as gripping, shaking and banging. As well as this, they also constantly improve their listening and attention skills, meaning their creative awareness is constantly blossoming.
