Expressing Ourselves!

Recently at Leighs we have been looking at emotions and discovering a range of different ways we can express our feelings.

We practice our Makaton signs with the children and ask how everyone is feeling during circle time. The children have taken an interest in our mirrors, enjoying expressing themselves through facial expressions, talking and showing different emotions.

In our story corner we have a variety of emotion books, one being ‘Brave’ which the children particularly love. The story really beautifully explains different ways we can show that we’re brave.

Following on from this, we incorporated being brave into our play and the children really enjoyed working together out in the garden to make it across the bridge safely without falling in the water. The team work shown was beautiful!
