Fantastic Fruity Feast!

With the recent warm weather we decided to embrace all of the refreshing fruits available to eat and make our own fruit kebabs.

We discussed the different fruits using our smell and taste to help identify them. The children listened so well at the instructions given for cutting and assembling the kebabs. What amazing little chefs in the making!

The children enjoyed talking about the different textures and sizes of the fruit, as well as where our fruit comes from. There were amazing contributions to our discussion involving the children identifying that strawberry plants require soil, water and sun to grow. The children were keen to listen to why fruit is good for our growing bodies to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The independence and enthusiasm from the children was lovely to see and we hope this activity will encourage the children to  continue to explore tasty healthy foods.
