Feelings and Emotions!

The Sunflowers have been learning about feelings and emotions during their circle time recently. It is important that they are aware of their own feelings and know that some actions and words may hurt others. We are learning that there are reasons behind their emotions and the impact they might have!

During the activity they read one of our favourite stories about feelings and talked about the different ones we experience and why. They then rolled the dice to see what it would land on and practiced changing their facial expressions. We went on to use physical development skills and moved in different ways to portray the different emotions.  Their gross motor skills were put into action to practice writing patterns to create different feelings monsters. From using different techniques to draw circles and lines they were able to write their own name and practiced writing letters they struggled with.  The children got so much out of this activity and loved joining in with all the different parts!
