Getting Ready For School!

Starting school can be a daunting experience for children and a big change in their life. As key workers and practitioners we pride ourselves on working with and supporting the children on their next adventure.  The Sunflowers focused on independence which is a big part of moving on to school, practising putting on their own coats and shoes for a small reward to give them motivation.

At Leigh’s we love to listen and practise our phonics and the children loved going on a nature walk to find some sticks to use as writing materials to mark make in the flour. The sunflowers worked together to copy and trace the letters and used their focus letter to find objects in their surroundings which all started with the same sound.

We will be so sad to see our children go but we are so very proud and hope they enjoy their new adventures of big school!
