Halloween Ready!

The Snowdrops and Sweetpeas have enjoyed talking about Halloween and spiders. We painted our hands in black to create a spider painting, adding some eyes to see. We also talked about emotion, looking in the mirror to see if we had a happy face to then put on our spiders. The children enjoyed looking in the mirror practicing their smiley happy faces. This helps to develop the children’s sense of emotion and have an understanding of how they are feeling.

The children were so excited about searching for spiders, looking in our shaving foam messy play area and enjoying the texture of the foam. To help us look closely we used a magnifying glass. Staff members modelled using this first and the children copied brilliantly. This activity helped develop the children’s maths and communication skills.

The children thoroughly enjoyed this Halloween messy play activity, it was so much fun!
