Health and Self Care!

Today in Sweetpeas we have been doing some Health and Self care dressing our babies.

To do this we used some dolls and lots different items of everyday clothing. This activity massively promotes independence and can increase the children’s vocabulary using everyday single words. During this activity one of the children got very excited seeing the doll, pointing and saying “baby baby”.

We spoke about what the items of clothing were and we pointed out where  we would put those clothes. The children repeated some of the single words such as “hat” and “sock”. The Sweetpea’s helped dress the dolls with some support. After this one of the children extended our play by pretending to feed the doll using a spoon and then putting the doll into a cot saying “bed”.
