The Corona virus is currently dominating the headlines on a daily basis so we wanted to share a very important blog post with you all for some reassurance surrounding the steps we have in place within each of our three nursery settings to help prevent it.
Here at Leigh’s we pride ourselves on maintaining the highest of standards every single day when it comes to cleanliness and hygiene. All staff support and educate the children when it comes to their own personal hygiene. We teach and encourage good hand washing skills through various fun activities, making it part of their routines so that they know to do it before meals, after messy play and when they’ve been to the toilet.
We encourage the children to blow their noses when needed and always have tissues on hand around the nurseries making them accessible and easy to reach. The ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ method is something that we constantly instil in them to avoid the spread of any bugs. Books and social stories are another method that we use to help promote good and effective hygiene routines in a fun/easy to understand way.
Deep cleaning of each nursery is carried out regularly every single day on any floors, surfaces, toys and equipment. We have increased the frequency of this because of the Corona virus outbreak. Clear policies and procedures are in place regarding sickness and the spread of infection for all staff, parents and visitors. We ask that anyone who enters the nursery makes use of the antibacterial hand gel made available on your arrival. Our amazing door team are always on hand to share information and advice.
We hope this has helped and if you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact us!
Lots of love,
Everyone at Leighs Nurseries xx
