Leighs Gardening Club!

At Leigh’s we have began to incorporate a gardening club into our nursery days now that the weather has brightened up! The children have absolutely loved getting involved and finding their green fingers!

We took a small group of children at a time to take it in turns to plant different seeds. We spoke about what will happen as the seeds grow and what plants need in order to grow. The children showed great understanding that plants need the sun and lots of water to survive, sharing their knowledge with each other and talking throughout the activity. The children were brilliant at sharing the resources and supporting each other in turning the soil and making sure the seeds were nice and nestled in to the pots. The children then used the watering can to water the seeds before placing them into the greenhouse, excited to check on the progress of them!

All in all we’ve been having so much fun and can’t wait to see our seeds spring to life!
