Leighs Mini Aprons!

The children have loved putting on our beautiful new mini Leighs aprons here in nursery.

We channeled their excitement of looking just like the nursery nurses around them who they look up to so much by allowing the older children to use their independence in doing a variation of every day tasks. One quote we always strive to fulfil everyday here at Leighs was said by the incredible Maria Montessori – “The greatest gift we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.”

The children loved helping their younger peers carry out the tasks which was brilliant to see. This method of peer support really brings out the confidence and self esteem in them all massively!

We know that they thrive from having positive role models such as ourselves and learning how to complete different everyday tasks will help them in later life.
