Happy Monday!
At Leigh’s we love making numbers fun! The children collected their own natural resources from our garden to make our very own number tree. They enjoyed punching holes in the leaves and counting how many they could make. We then used conkers that we found on our nature hunt to count out and match them with the numbers on the leaves.
We love using natural resources for our activities as it massively supports the children’s creativity and imagination. It also provides sensory benefits and allows the children to feel the different textures, sizes, colours and smells.
This activity allowed the children to be creative and have fun whilst learning numbers. They listened carefully to the instructions and were able to recognise the numbers written down independently. The older children helped their peers when counting the conkers and were very proud of what they could do.
Lots of love and we hope you all have a brilliant week!
