Physical Development!

24.03.2021

Physical development is a huge part of everything we do here at Leighs!
Some of our Snowdrops have recently learned to pull to stand, crawl and even stand on their own unaided so we are always adapting the environment to encourage them to meet new goals.
High level units encourage the children to  pull to stand to find out what they can explore on top. They also allow the opportunity for babies to let go as they gain the confidence and find their balance when they are learning to stand on their own.
One of our Snowdrops enjoys crawling in and out of our Snowdrop room garden as we do free flow play allowing the babies to explore both inside and out. Our Snowdrops gets very excited seeing cars outside, as staff roll the cars this encourages our them to crawl after it!
We also have some tummy time which is a great way for our Snowdrops to build up their core strength and balance as they learn to roll over and then crawl. We have a lot of low level activities for our babies to enjoy including some sensory books encouraging them to use their arms to reach forward and their hands to explore different textures inside the books.
Lots of love,
Everyone at Leighs xxx
