Planting with the Sunflowers!

Recently we have revamped our Sunflower garden ready for the summer months. The children have shown an interest in nature related activities so our garden has a new planting station which the children are absolutely loving.

Planting has allowed them to take on responsibility  as they look after the plants independently. The children are very engaged with caring for the plants by filling up the watering cans to ensure they have been watered on a regular basis. They recognise that if the plants are not cared for they will not flourish. The planting station can link to many other topics within the curriculum and we have also discussed life cycles in both plants and animals.

The Sunflowers really value time outdoors and planting provides that extra time outdoors in the fresh air while also keeping them active.
