Shapes With Sunflowers!

The Sunflowers have been showing a lot of interest in shapes both in and around their environment.

To support their growing interest the Sunflowers took part in our ‘what shape can you make’ activity. The children loved this as they were able to explore the sand and different shapes available to them. They used their fine motor skills to draw around the shapes and then after this they felt confident enough to draw the shapes independently in the sand.

This activity not only supports the children’s growing knowledge and understanding of shapes, it also develops their fine motor skills as well as encouraging the children’s mathematical language during play.
