Social Skills Development!

At Leigh’s nurseries we pride ourselves on how every child’s social skills develop within our care, from the very beginning of their nursery life. From Snowdrops through to Sunflowers we communicate with the children throughout their day helping their language develop which they share with the children and staff from babbling to full conversations, often in large circle times where their confidence flourishes.

We enjoy leading a wide range of circle times at Leigh’s, from nursery rhymes and stories from an early age to circle games and phonics activities as they grow, promoting their confidence and independence. Sharing and turn taking is such an important part of a child’s social skills and we positively promote it through modelling this behaviour. Children develop friends for life at our nurseries, we encourage them to be kind and be aware of others emotions and feelings, as well as how everyone is different and unique and that is something we should always embrace.
