The Life Cycle of a Caterpillar!

We have been looking at different life cycles focusing recently on the life cycle of a caterpillar. The children enjoyed making their very own caterpillars and butterflies out of junk modelling.

They had so much fun glueing the eyes and other parts on their models by themselves showing great independence. We then read one of the children’s favourite stories, “The very hungry caterpillar”. We spoke about healthy eating and why it’s important as at the end of the story the caterpillar eats a lot of food that makes his tummy hurt!

The children really enjoyed this part as they got to talk about their favourite food!
