Toddle Box Fun!

03.02.2020

Happy Monday everyone!

The focus of this blogpost is Toddle Boxes which all of the children no matter their age enjoy in our nurseries! Babies explore them through either shuffling or crawling along independently. Once on their feet, with support, they also enjoy walking along them too! Older children use them with a bit more freedom, moving in various ways whether it be by walking, jumping or hopping etc. in lots of different directions. We all know how important physical development is even from the earliest age and our toddle boxes really spur this on through encouraging co-ordination, confidence, spacial awareness and independence.┬áThe children also develop their Maths language, adding and understanding new words such as ‘up’, ‘down’, ‘backwards’, ‘forwards’, ‘left’ and ‘right’.

Some of our all time favourite ways to use toddle boxes is in the form of imaginative play. We love pretending that they’re vehicles, animals and obstacle courses, but the most popular game is definitely when the children pretend not to fall in the water!

See you on Wednesday,

Lots of love,

Leigh x
